All of you might have come across this news of a brutal rape and murder of a 9-year-old girl in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir.

I have been following the news stories on the issue since the incident took place and what shocks me the most is that every single news agency calls it an “inhuman act.” My question to all of you is very simple: Is it really an inhuman act? I don’t know of a single animal or any other living being on this planet who are capable of doing such a heinous crime against their own young ones. Instead of comparing these criminals with other living beings present in the world, shouldn’t we introspect and take some responsibility for such acts?

It is time that we stop calling our human acts the acts of wild animals. The people who brutally raped and murdered this innocent soul are humans and must be referred to as humans. It is a human act and only we are capable of inflicting unimaginable pain on our own species, especially children.

If we still don’t get it, then may God hit the earth with a meteor or something worse and bring an end to this so called “superior” species called human beings.
