Demand Justice for Marcus Mosley
Demand Justice for Marcus Mosley
The Issue
On May 17, 2019, officer Luke Tambrini used excessive force after accusing Marcus Mosley of urinating in public. After Mosley denied the claim, the police officer instructed Mosley to touch a puddle of liquid and 'to lick it.' When Mosely pointed out how ridiculous his order was, the so-called officer Luke Tambrini asked for Marcus Mosley's identification. When he refused, the officer tased and sicked a K9 on the victim. Mosley was hospitalized with bites to his left arm and shoulder.

This is yet another incident where police use excessive violence on black minorities. It is clear from the video that Marcus Mosley was targeted by a police officer because of his race. There is absolutely no excuse for officer Luke Tambrini of Lynwood Police Department to respond with this level of excessive violence, as seen in the video.
Officer Luke Tambrini states that Mr. Mosley is being arrested for obstruction of identification. Below is the actual law in Illinois regarding Obstruction of Identification.
Obstructing identification.
(a) A person commits the offense of obstructing identification when he or she intentionally or knowingly furnishes a false or fictitious name, residence address, or date of birth to a peace officer who has:
(1) lawfully arrested the person;
(2) lawfully detained the person; or
(3) requested the information from a person that the peace officer has good cause to believe is a witness to a criminal offense.
(b) Sentence. Obstructing identification is a Class A misdemeanor.
As can be observed, Officer Luke Tambrini apparently does not even know or understand the laws of his own state. This blatant abuse of power and authority is absolutely intolerable, no matter who you are. This petition is to have officer Luke Tambrini fired from the Lynwood Police Department and also bring attention to the 12-count federal lawsuit that Mosely has filed. There must also be consequences for this disgusting and unprofessional conduct. Please sign this petition to raise awareness of this situation and to demand responsibility for reckless abuse and the continued brutality of black people in America.
