The authors of this petition are two nurses that currently work for a Christian based hospital in Virginia. One of us has already decided to resign not willing to take the repercutions of refusal to get vaccinated or risk having a religious exemption denied. The second, is staying in her position to help keep staff members up and serve others. However, has been notified that refusal will result in the maximum number of merits against her before getting fired. She is no longer elligible for a raise, bonus or sick leave. 

All employees in the state of Virginia should stand up for the protection of  vaccine exemption, promoting informed consent rights and preserving medical privacy. Your healthcare heroes during the start of Covid pandemic are now being bullied at work and threatened with monetary loss or job loss as a result of Biden's potential vaccine mandate. Hospitals are already stretched thin due to staff shortages and as a result of their rights being infringed upon, they are leaving at alarming high rates. This is putting other workers and patients at an increased risk for inadequate care and unsafe patient staff ratios.

Last year's heroes are this year's targets. Hundreds of Virginia healthcare employees will soon be out of job. A job that required hours of schooling, continuing education, and limitless passion. Why? They are being forced to choose between getting the vaccine, submitting a religious or medical exemption that may or may not be approved, or refuse to get vaccinated and "voluntarily" resign. The mandate is eliminating ones right to make their own choice, Right to Liberty, and Medical Freedom.

The mandate should not be written in the manner that is. This is a choice and should remain that way. This is the prime example of the person that you want in healthcare. The one that is pro medical freedom and choice. Someone that will advocate for themselves will also advocate for their patients. 

Congressman Ben Cline said " Joe Biden's vaccine mandate on the American people is a gross abuse of power and potentially unconstitutional. The federal government has no right to trample on workers' rights, medical freedom and individual liberty." 

Whether you choose to get vaccinated or not, it should be an individual's personal choice.
