On Juneteenth - Tweet the Black Caucus Now!

June 19, 2020 — Thank you for signing the petition demanding money is budgeted for California forced sterilization reparations. We are just shy of 2,500 signatures!

Your further action is needed today. Please tweet the below members of the CA Legislative Black Caucus, supporting our budget request. We cannot wait any longer to demand accountability for state violence against families and communities of color.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, California’s budget process is different from any other year. The legislature only passed a framework for the budget and law makers continue to negotiate with the Governor. There will be a second round of budget changes in August. It is up to us to make sure money for reparations and notification for survivors makes it into the revised budget.

Help us turn our budget request into a priority of the Black Legislative Caucus - they are working on priorities to address police violence and systemic racism endured by the Black community and reparations for forced sterilization should be included.

Tweet these members of the Black Caucus today - tell them to make reparations for sterilization abuse a budget priority!
