This is important because time to time we experience raising temperatures, melting of glaciers and rising sea levels. By this happening more often we are setting ourselves up for extreme weather conditions going forward. This can also lead to more droughts around the country which will lead to lack of fresh water and increase in food prices. Not just environmentalists but most of the people including myself who know a little bit about what global warming is are concerned about the effect.
