Since our petition began circulating on November 27, it has been viewed over 50,000 times, and over 1000 of you have signed. Since that time, daily case rates, test positivity rates, hospitalizations, and deaths have all continued to rise dramatically, with ICU headroom falling to only 10% statewide, as reported by COVID ACTNow.
Other states including RI and CA have paused indoor dining and exercise, and NY has announced similar plans if hospitalization growth rates do not stabilize by the end of this week.
Together, these grim milestones give us another opportunity to drive change in Connecticut. We will be transmitting our petition to Governor Lamont tomorrow AM - the best way to amplify our voices is to speak out and share our message in your local communities, to your state and local elected officials, to your hospital administrators, and to your families, friends, and neighbors.
We don't have to simply accept the coming disaster conditions in our hospitals and the devastation that will follow. If we band together, we can bend the curve, vaccinate our loved ones, and get ourselves and our state back on track to end the great pandemic of 2020.
