Our letter has now has been signed by over 600 doctors, nurses, and other concerned individuals, and covered heavily in media outlets around the state. Yesterday, Governor Lamont and his senior advisers invited a group of individual doctors to meet with him to discuss our concerns. We highlighted to the Governor and his team that the numbers of COVID and non-COVID patients filling up our critical care units and emergency departments around the state are extremely high; emphasized how severely ill these patients are; and described exactly why it is so challenging it is for our health systems to provide so much critical care at one time. We also told some of the difficult stories we hear from patients and their families and shared the comments that many of you have added about your own experiences on this site.

The Governor and his advisors expressed his great appreciation for these perspectives and are open to continuing to hearing from all of you.  Ongoing communication with the Governor and with the general public about what you are seeing is essential to slow the pandemic and inform policy. Accordingly, please continue to speak up in your own communities and share our letter with others to spread the message.

Thank you for your support and let's go for 1000 signatures!
