With the decision to switch to a 100% off-site learning model, the associated contingency is the Iowa Department of Education expects the district will temporarily cease in-person extracurricular activities for the duration of the two-week period.

Extra curricular activities are an incredibly important social, mental and physical outlet for our students. Continuation of these outlets is critical -- particularly during these times where social isolation is already too prevalent. Our students have worked hard, been patient and have done everything asked of them.  They have been champions about it -- they want to play. 

Let our kids demonstrate they are able to be responsible for their actions and their health.  Let families make their own decisions as to whether or not they want to allow participation. We are asking for thoughtful consideration to allowing our students to continue extracurricular activities during this two-week period.
