During this pandemic, rules & regulations for nurse practitioners have been relaxed all across the country and some states such as NY, Massachusetts. Etc have taken it further, granting full practice authority (FPA)to their NPs. HHS has allowed providers to practice across state lines during this time. The education, experience, holistic and compassionate care that nurse Practitioners bring to the table is invaluable. Which is why the time to allow NPs to full authority to practice In Georgia is now. If we are reliable, dependable, educated, and knowledgeable to provide critical care across the nation during this pandemic without the red tape, why can’t this be a permanent solution to our healthcare crisis? Prior to this point in our history, Nurse Practitioner's have fought in many states for independent practice and have succeeded in some states. Our profession have been patient thus far but the need is too great to ignore at this critical time. The Georgia cases of COVID-19 surpass 2,400; 79 deaths reported and the numbers keeps surging.
