We, the family members, loved ones, and friends of Taurean Decatur #M34516, are extremely confident and 100% certain that Taurean should be granted clemency and does not deserve to die in prison. Taurean was tried, convicted and sentenced to 105 years in prison for murder and attempt murder charges in January of 2013. Since being incarcerated he has spent his time wisely by grasping at and taking advantage of every opportunity available to him through the means of education, trades and skills.

Taurean has reached the developmental maturity level that is enriching in the lives of so many people from many different walks of life. Taurean Decatur has dedicated his time, energy and entire life towards transforming his mind and actions as a young African American positive leader and champion for change. We believe wholeheartedly that Taurean serves clemency and should be afforded a second chance at life so that he can empower, bring positive change about, and invest deeply into the community he and so many others are responsible for taking from, as well as other communities across the world.

We, the people of society deserve to be heard because our voices do matter. We respectfully ask you Governor Pritzker to grant Taurean Decatur's clemency.

This show of support for Taurean by no means acts as an attempt to minimize his actions committed as a youth back in 2009, the life that was lost, nor the lives that have been affected by such a tragedy.
