Aloha all,
I apologize for the lack of updates. Due to an unfortunate technical issue with the petition website, I lost access to this petition for a couple weeks. I'm not going to get into how horrible tech support is for this platform but let's just say it was frustrating. Regardless, I have access now and just in-time to collect our signatures and comments for sending to Governor Ige. We will be sending both the collected signatures and comments to him tomorrow!
As far as I know, there has still been no commentary from Governor Ige on whether or not HB1567 will be vetoed but I do feel that thanks to the pressure from the public as well as the incredible press conference from Hawaii's Mayors that he will veto.
I've included video on that press conference and I hope that all of you will give credit where its due to these presenters. HB1567 must be vetoed. Thank you to everyone who contributed, who signed as well helped to spread the word. Your efforts are sincerely appreciated. I would like to thank both Mayor Rick Blangiardi as well as Councilwoman Andria Tupola for the invitation to cover and be a part of the press conference.
With a tremendous surge in crime, we do not need this horrible legislation to make things worse. Let's hope for the best!
Mahalo!
