This past Friday, The Arkansas Parole Board unanimously denied the petition for clemency of Jack Harold Jones Jr, one of seven inmates on Death Row scheduled for execution in a ten day period at the end of this month. Jones joins four other inmates who have filed for clemency and were denied by the Parole Board. Yesterday, lawyers representing all seven inmates with execution dates between April 17th and April 27th presented their case for a permanent block of the planned killings to a federal judge in Eastern Arkansas. Results of the trial are expected by end of day tomorrow. If they fail, Don Davis and Bruce Ward will be executed next Monday—followed by Stacey Johnson and Ledell Lee next Thursday, Jack Harold Jones Jr. on April 24th, and Kenneth Williams on April 27th. But there’s still time to fight for these seven men. This Friday, you can join people advocating for the lives of these Death Row inmates at the Arkansas State Capitol at 1:30 PM, including Damien Echols—a former Death Row inmate who will be in attendance.
