Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and our GOP-controlled Legislature have passed and signed HB 4294. This bill allows our public school districts to hire school bus drivers, lunch aides, office staff and any employee with a HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA to STAFF ANY CLASSROOM! MI graduates high school students and awards diplomas with a D- in EVERY class. This bill will have the most adverse impact in economically disadvantaged, special education and rural districts. Parents & Students MUST BOYCOTT these Teacher-Less Classrooms. Students MUST STRIKE on February 9, 2022, the Second Per Pupil Count Day. A Teacher-Less Classroom Deserves NO Funding! No Meaningful learning with a person that has even a decent high school diploma! How can a 9th grader master Algebra-1 when the fake teacher can’t teach the content? How can a deaf student learn in a Hearing Impairment classroom with a fake teacher that knows NO American Sign Language? Who will drive school buses if bus drivers are at the head of classrooms?  Are you getting my gist?
