To Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer:

COVID-19 (also known as coronavirus) has been classified as a global pandemic. Michigan already has 53 cases statewide as of 3/16/2020. Officials are asking everyone to quarantine themselves, but too many already struggle to pay rent or mortgage payments. Choosing to skip work could leave families without a home to live in. Others in the event, restaurant, and entertainment industries don't even have a choice and will not be able to pay their bills at all with forced closure of establishments.

In order to protect citizen's health and housing, we, the undersigned, call on Governor Gretchen Whitmer to act now so we do not face homelessness and foreclosures. Specifically, we are calling for a suspension of rent, mortgage, loans, and utility payments for as long as people are being asked to quarantine and as long as establishments are being forced to close. This will ensure no one gets left behind.
