Rodeos are animal cruelty and should be illegal. Rodeos include bronco riding, steer wrestling, and roping calves. Animals are tormented before entering the ring. The innocent animals are usually shocked with an electric prod which is what makes them run around and buck. Spurs on the riders boots are also used to make animals buck. Furthermore, their tails are twisted and many other painful things are done in order to rile the animals up. 

Steer wrestling is literally the act of a human wrestling a cow or calf to the ground. This is a sick act where a human is just trying to show domination over an animal. Calf roping is the act of getting a rope around a baby cows neck while a person is riding on a horse and then jumping of to run to the calf and tie its legs together as fast as possible. There is no possible way you can do these things without hurting the animals. Imagine being wrestled to the around or having a rope around your neck and someone rushing to tie your legs together. This is torture. These actions  hurt, kill, and or leave permanent damage mentally and physically to animals. These actions if done human to human, would get someone arrested. So, why are we letting humans do it to voiceless animals?

This sad form of "entertainment" is extremely out dated and should not be legal anywhere but lets get it out of our state! There are already some cities where Rodeos have been banned in California, lets ban it all together! Ultimately, this is a topic that is often over looked and there needs to be more awareness that it is animal cruelty. Sign this petition and tell your family and friends why Rodeos should be illegal.
