Alachua County Bans Plastic Bags! 35,000 Signatures!

Lots of great news this week on the Florida plastic bag legislation front. The Alachua County Commission banned plastic bags. This means all areas within the unincorporated area will be prohibited to distribute plastic bags. With Gainesville and Alachua County covered thats a great area covered.

Additionally, Surfside (Next to Miami Beach) passed their plastic bag ban last night! It was the 2nd and final hearing. Publix has confirmed with me over the phone that they will comply with this legislation come December. Paper bags only!
