Today, Gainesville gave an initial approval to ban plastic bags & Styrofoam products. Gainesville joins Coral Gables as the 2nd city in Florida to ban plastic bags.

Did you know there are more than a dozen Publix' stores in Gainesville? This ordinance will have a huge impact as it'll take millions of plastic bags out of circulation. 

The final vote comes later this month and the law goes into effect on August 1st. Congratulations to Gainesville for being leaders on this issue and not being afraid of the State of Florida, Publix or the Florida Retail Federation!
