Please help families of people who have loved ones in nursing homes finally get the chance to visit them. There has been new guidance released by the federal government as well as CMS that clearly outlines a safe way to visit nursing home residents. At this time, NYS has not altered their requirements for visitation; therefore, leaving many facilities having to restrict visitation when an employee or resident is diagnosed with COVID 19.  Families are unable to visit for a minimum of 2 weeks. Many nursing homes have not been COVID free for multiple months, if not, since last March.  Our mothers, fathers, and grandparents who are residents in nursing homes have been without their family for almost a year now. This is precious time that we will never be able to get back. Please help us change the NYS regulations to match that of the federal government and CMS guidelines.  Many residents have already been fully vaccinated. Only the specific unit that has a diagnosed COVID 19 case should have to quarantine and not the whole facility. Please help by sharing! Thank you!
