Dear U.S. Government, 

Im skipping the formality.

Let's get right into it. This petition was created to explain to you in detail why we deserve for JUNETEENTH to be a National Holiday. It was created to explain the our enslavement and the contradictions to the July 4th Independence Day that you have adopted do not align.

But let's be honest, no explanation is needed as there has been a line drawn in the sand that has repeatedly shown that you do not care what we say, What facts we give, what arguments we make.

So I am appealing to those who do not need a long history lesson of black lives and why it matters.

Im appealing to everyone black who has experienced racism and acknowledges that this system was designed intentionally to hold us back.

Im appealing to the senates, representatives and local officials who know wholeheartedly through their career that race has played a role in every action the Government has made.

I am appealing to those officials who know that with every fiber in their being that blacks are disproportionately targeted and want to do something about it without fair of retaliation.

Im appealing to my black family who want to be that change. Join me! We are exhausted!

Your president has made it painfully aware that we are divided. We do not share your holiday! I encourage anyone who believes in this petition, Black, Whites, Asian, etc to celebrate with us.

Make JUNETEENTH a National Day. 

*George Floyd and every other death at the hands of police brutality and Racism is tiring. We are tired. We are done.
