Why this petition matters

In 1990, twins Dannette and Jeannette Millbrook went missing from Augusta, Richmond County, GA.  The County, specifically the Sheriff's Office, removed the girls from the missing person's database for over 20 years. The Sheriff's office has  reportedly made little attempt and no progress to help the family search for the missing girls since their sister has had the case reinstated.  There is a Jane Doe known as "1993 Aiken County Jane Doe" who resembles one of the girls.  The timeline fits.  Reportedly, because the estimated age is different from that of missing 15 (sometimes reported as 16 year old Jeannette Millbrook, she had a birthday right after she went missing), no official of Richmond County has submitted the DNA request to "The DNA Doe Project".  There have been calls made to the Sheriff's, Mayor's and Governor's Offices from the family as well as from people trying to help, including calls related to the podcast about the girls, with minimal to no response.  In response to the family, the Mayor made a call.  There was no known action taken as a response to that call, as far as the family is aware, the Mayor took no further action.

"The DNA Doe Project" has stated that they can not perform the DNA test without the submission from an official government entity. While other government entities are happily and willingly submitting DNA for matches, Richmond County reportedly continually dismisses the Millbrook family, who have submitted their DNA and requested a comparison.  The county reportedly states that their reasoning is that the age reported for the Jane Doe is not a match. Historically, these estimates can be wrong.  They are just estimates.  There is no reason for the DNA not to be tested for elimination.  Please sign the petition to get  the State of Georgia to submit the DNA request to "The DNA Doe Project"  for comparison and the Millbrook's family hopeful exclusion for "The 1993 Aiken County Jane Doe" to Jeannette Millbrook.  If the 1993 Aiken County Jane Doe has already been tested and excluded, we are asking that Richmond County share this information publicly with the Millbrook family, so that the Millbrook family can have well-deserved peace of mind and pursue other avenues.

Thank you for signing to ask Richmond County to submit the request for testing to "The DNA Doe Project".  Thank you for supporting the Millbrook family plight in making this DNA test happen! Please leave your own personal message to Richmond County below!

No family deserves to spend 30 years wondering what happened to their girls.
