Now that I have your attention: Robert Moses State Park is named after Robert Moses, a racist man who created many of the systemic racism problems that we’re facing today. These include building infrastructures that specifically kept minorities out such as swimming pools, beaches, and parks. More information can be found on the problematic man that Robert Moses was in the book by Robert Caro, The Power Broker: Robert Moses and The Fall of New York.

There are many other notable Long Islanders that this beach could be named after, Lindsay Lohan being one of them.  Please feel free to suggest any other extraordinary Long Islanders that you feel this beach should represent, such as Billy Joel or Alec Baldwin. We’re open to having this beach renamed after someone who the citizens of this great peninsula believe represents it the best.
