Allow Loved Ones in the Nursing Homes to see their loved ones before it's too late

The Issue

COVID19 has stopped families from caring and being with their loved ones in a nursing home.  The homes are COVID free now and we are not allowed to see our parents/loved ones.  The new rule is to social distance outside, with masks on, for 20 mins.  No hands on.  This creates a terrible situation for the residents of the home.  Most residents do not understand.

Prisons and hospitals are allowed to have visitors and touching is permitted, limited but permitted.

Our loved ones, in these homes, NEED to be hugged and touched by their families. They are regressing, becoming depressed.  Some simply are giving up and are feeling like they are left to die alone.  We do not want to just be there at end of life to say goodbye.  We want to see our parents/loved ones while they are still rather healthy to know we are there for them.  That we did not forget them.

We are asking for a  hands on environment to safely care for our parents, it is our right to have this.  We pay for the care, but we are also part of that care.  No one knows them the way we do and they rely and depend on us to be there for them.  Most of these residents are not there by their choice.  They should be allowed to have dignity and their loved ones beside them.

It's time to make that change NOW!
