The sanctimonious demagoguery of the proponents of cultural and historic cleansing would have us think that their actions are due to the "pain and suffering" they feel they are forced to endure when walking past or seeing a Confederate veterans monument. So now they are tearing down a monument to President William McKinley, the last American President to have served in the Civil War and the only one to have started as an enlisted man and worked his way up to the rank of Brevet Major in the Union Army. When will this cancer of iconoclasm end?
