If the iconoclasts have their way, we may no longer have a state capital named after founding father Stephen F. Austin. As usual, cultural and historic cleansing follows the normal pattern of stealth removal with public discussion after the fact, if at all, once the facts (of removal) have been created. The idea to remove Austin from the name of our state capital is not new, but its implementation will be sudden and swift! Be forewarned!
