Today we reached a milestone of 1000 signatures thanks to your combined efforts! There will be more signatures forthcoming. I will soon be contacting Governor Abbott with our results. I ask all of you to please contact your individual state senators and representatives and ask them to submit and pass legislation establishing a Monuments Protection Act. Like General Washington at Valley Forge, it is proper to kneel and thank the Almighty for our many blessings as a Nation and for the virtues of fortitude and perseverance in our mission to secure proper respect and dignity for the monuments of our veterans. We will work to restore the monuments of those who have been desecrated and dishonored during the shameful incidents of the past weeks. And, in this year, where we especially commemorate the sacrifices and honor of our Vietnam War veterans, we seek to add long overdue monuments to true American heroes and patriots like General Daniel "Chappie" James Jr. of the legendary Tuskegee Airmen. Most importantly now, we pray for our members of the Armed Forces who continue to valiantly defend our flag while our nation remains at war.
