Humana PPO update for Harris County

All, please pardon the informal post, but this is the newest information we have: Update: By tomorrow you should be able to call and get the information regarding the plan and your premium but sign up they say still will not commence until the 18th. (that was not supposed to be the case per TDI but that is what Humana is still saying right now). Communications are being sent to the call center, brokers etc. today. so hopefully people will have information if you call tomorrow. What We have been told just now is that anyone living in one of the 26 counties which currently does not have access to this PPO can sign up from the 18th until the 31st with guaranteed coverage on the 1st. That is good news. He also said it is standard in the industry that if you cancel a policy before it goes into effect that you should get your first month's premium back and not have to worry about paying two premiums for a month. We were told by the Texas Dept of Insurance that their efforts are fully focused on this and they are still in talks with Humana to get these issues resolved. We will continue to update as Welearn more. To each person that has signed and shares this, thank you! Please continue to share the information and sign. We still believe MDA Leadership should demand all the insurance companies offer a PPO which includes MDA. Our voices matter and since a few very committed individuals have been able to get Humana to offer a PPO, imagine what the President of MDA and UT could do for the 26 counties that were excluded from PPO option.
