Humana Communicates about PPO in #HarrisCounty and 25 other counties

This JUST IN: Starting immediately, we will have the ability to quote plans in Texas for 26 counties (Austin, Bastrop, Bosque, Brazoria, Burnet, Caldwell, Chambers, Colorado, Falls, Fayette, Ft. Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Hays, Hamilton, Harris, Lee, Liberty, Limestone, Milam, Montgomery, Travis, Waller, Washington, Wharton, Williamson) that were previously unavailable for 2016. Since that time, a new Humana plan, TX Bronze 6450 ChoiceCare PPO + Children’s Dental, has been added for 2016 coverage and is now available to clients. This plan will be available on our quoting and enrollment tools on December 18th. If you need to obtain a quote for a client prior to the 18th, please contact us at 1-800-833-2572 to obtain a quote for a January 1st effective date. If you have a client that is looking to obtain coverage for a January 1st effective date, they will need to enroll once the plans are active in the quoting and enrollment tools, and contact Humana to request their January effective date by December 31st (this will only be available for customers in these 26 counties). More information on this process will be coming soon. You may have had clients that received a letter from Humana in September regarding their current coverage being discontinued effective 12/31/15. As a reminder these individuals qualify for a special enrollment period that will continue for sixty days after 12/31/15. These discontinued Humana members have through February 29, 2016 to select and enroll in this plan. This provides them with additional time to enroll in a new plan however we encourage you to help them shop now to avoid any gaps in coverage. Lastly, even though most clients have already made their 2016 Plan decision, we wanted you to know that purchasing these plans will now be an option. If any clients decide to select a different plan than was previously selected, please make sure to cancel the initially selected plan. Attached is a letter that is being sent to all members that received a discontinuance letter in these 26 counties notifying them about this plan as an available enrollment option. Please connect with any of your clients that may have received this notice to see if this Bronze plan may be a good option for their coverage needs. Thank you for all you do for Humana.
