Ken Paxton must resign as the Attorney General for Texas.

Paxton waited weeks after Governor Abbott deferred to county health officials for their input on safety orders for schools to issue his contradictory legal 'guidance' statement. He waited until TEA had already changed their guidelines for school funding based on Governor Abbott's order. He waited until school districts across Texas spent time and money altering their plans based on Governor Abbotts directive and county office orders. He waited until teachers had spent time and effort adjusting their instructional plans based on the new district guidelines. 

Paxton's decision to issue a belated legal 'guidance' statement is simply an effort to force students and teachers back into an unsafe face to face scenario. It blatantly defies the directive given by the Governor of Texas. It undermines the expertise of county health officials. Worst of all, it compromises the health of Texans. 

Ken Paxton is an expert on the law. If the Governor's orders to defer to county health officials was illegal, Paxton would have known this immediately and his 'guidance' statement would have been issued weeks ago. Paxton has used his position as an authority on legal matters in an effort to pander to a political agenda.
