Our biological father dumped us many years ago, so me and my sister decided to stop all contact with him. Now a Belgian court convicted my mother to 1 year in prison for "kidnapping" us. He went to the cops and filed a kidnapping complaint against her. With this video and open letter from my mom I want to prove that we are NOT kidnapped in any way and we want to stay with our mother!! Please help us to free our mother and stop them from breaking up our family!!!

I would like to get your attention for my case , for what happened to me, my daughters, my husband and family. The way we have been treated by Belgian justice and my ex-husband.
On Jan 07 2014 the Belgian justice department of Ypres issued a European arrest warrant against me for the kidnapping of my 2 daughters , Manon 17 y and Joelle 15 y. I got arrested in Rivarolo C.se Turin and have spend 3 days in jail . Now , on 09 okt 2014 they gave me (court of Ypres) 1 year jail for the kidnapping of my own daughters ….
I divorced my ex-husband in 2006 , he works for the Belgian justice department , more specific in Ypres. He broke the relationship between him and his daughters in the year 2010/early 2011 and refused to come and pick them up in the weekends every 14 days. In the meanwhile I remarried with an Italian ( we are together since 2006) and with him my daughters have an excellent relation.
On 15 march 2013 we moved from Belgium to Italy, my parents in-law got really sick to the point that my father in-law died a few months later from a brain tumor. My lawyer contacted my ex-husband and got his written approval on paper that I could take the daughters with me to Italy and move there. I wanted to establish all this the legal way and went to juvenile court  to get the permission on legal paper. In the meanwhile , we rented out our house , looked for a Italian school , and quit our jobs. And here it went horribly wrong !
Months after, my ex-husband withdrew his permission in front of court and announced that I manipulated the girls. He changed this story 3 times , in the last letter from his lawyer it says that i threatened him to sign the approval. The court refused my application but it was too late for us , our home was gone, no work… my lawyer suggested to leave anyway because he felt that the judge in Ypres did not read the documents and did not listen to what the girls said ,about what they wanted. The girls were at the legal age that they could choose with who and where they wanted to live, also since the father had no contact with them anymore whatsoever. Their letters were not read by the court and discarded as irrelevant . In the meanwhile we got to file for appeal. The motivations of court were :
Every parent has the rights to choose where they want to live , even outside the country with the kids (european law) , but the court believes that with the attitude problem of the mother this will not be possible.
The daughters have no sense of reality and dream about the promise land where the sun is always shinning .
The mother broke all contacts with the father and manipulated the daughters (all this without talking to the girls).
It is in NO way possible that girls of that age speak Italian ( the girls were living in an Italian family since they were 6 and 8 years old).
I requested in court in front of the judge that he needed to pick up the girls at the airport every school holiday and free time (1hour flight) and that I would pay for all expenses that would come along with this trip but HE refused and said he didn’t feel it was necessary. 
The girls have notified him about or moving with address and phone number, this paper he received from the girls he even brought it to court but claimed he did not know about their whereabouts . Since 2011 he has not called , no birthday card, no Christmas card, no facebook (actually he blocked them) .
He has been in Italy with his new family twice ( pictures on facebook) but did not stop by to see his daughters. The judges did not feel this was relevant for the case.
The mother ruined the life of her daughters ,only the girls do not realize it yet and will realize it in time when they grow up.
The girls do not have a father figure in their lives ( my Italian husband sees them as his own , after their father abandoned them, he provides for them financially and emotionally and loves them dearly like his own. After all these years of pain and legal suffering he is still here for them and still wants to fight for us , a lot of men would of given up years ago !

He waited a year to file a kidnapping complaint against me after we left the country. Although he was legally bounded to pick them up every 14 days , the judges made it look in the documents that i refused to open the door and let them out. If he was interested in his daughters he would of seen they were gone already 14 days after we left ( end of march) and not a year later.
While we were still in Belgium , he remarried and did not invite his daughters. He stated that I had thrown away the invitation. I don’t believe that any parent would get married and invite the kids only by invitation. He could of picked them up from school , called them , facebook , email…. Since a wedding is a big deal and big planning and of course they would of needed also clothes. Later on in court he claimed that he was scared of what the reaction of the kids would be in front of his bride . He then later changed his testimony and said that I threw away the invitations. Again the court did not find this relevant for the case  .
The letters the girls send to court are false and lies therefore we do not consider them, there were no problems between father and daughters, manipulations of the mother.

The court in Ypres hereby issued an arrest warrant for kidnapping , connections with terrorism, flight risk , living on the street with kids (homeless) , kids not going to school and i was a danger to society .

I got arrested here in Italy and treated as  a terrorist , they came at 7 am and I got taken away , all this in front of the girls….. although after the carabinieri ( Italian police)realized that a terrorist does not make breakfast at 7 in the morning for her girls in pajama , they started to ask themselves and me questions…??! I would like to thank them (the carabinieri of Rivarolo c.se ) because they were very nice and helped me through some very dificult hours and tried to comfort me anyway they could !

In April 2014 I’ve been heard in Italy’s High Supreme court in Rome and they cleared me of all charges . Their motivation was that the arrest warrant issued by Belgium was a violation on my rights to have a family . All legal action against me had to be discontinued immediately . This action was send to all legal instances , Interpol and Belgian internal affairs .
The court of Ypres ignored this and went ahead with the charges they made against me , claiming that they never received such an order or were aware that we won in High Supreme court. My lawyer therefore received an incomplete file with loads of documents missing ! Letters from the girls , motivations of the high supreme court in Italy , my arrest warrant….
We received social aid in Italy , the girls were followed a few months and all was fine , they have a house , phone, facebook , go to school ,lots of friends and have the legal age to choose . I have a job and we have our family and friends here. The father still has not even tried to make contact with the girls, did not ask any legal instances to help for their return. According to Italian justice department this is his revenge against me for divorcing him and he is just asking me to return to Belgium. He works for justice in Ypres and knows everybody , Ypres is a small court, he works in jail and has daily contact with lawyers and judges… his wife talks to judges daily because of her work as a prison psychologist.
I never asked in any way for the girls to drop their father and always tried to reason with him when there was something wrong but sadly every time got the answer that I had to stay out of his business , that all of this was internal kitchen and I had no right to speak. The result of this was that the girls refused to go to him in the weekend, his new wife had lots of issues with the girls and could not stand them, sadly he always chose her side and never listened to the girls.
According to Belgian court he is the loving father but reality is he hasn’t been in their lives for 4 years.
I received 1 year in jail , I lost all confidence in justice and for this reason I would like to make this public. Court in Ypres and my ex-husband is breaking up a beautiful loving family  and has doomed my girls to live with fear and heartache for years already. They did not have an easy childhood and were forced to grow up faster than other girls their age. This bullying needs to end !
Please help us to get justice !
