Fed up of reading about irresponsible dog owners leaving there dogs alone in locked cars during hot weather.  Despite social media campaigns, messages from vets, signs in car parks, some owners still think it is acceptable to leave a dog alone in car to suffer from heat stroke and possibly death.  This is nothing more than animal abuse and it needs to be stopped.  Currently all they seem to receive is a slap on the wrist and given advice, which, I suspect is ignored.  Well it’s time to take action, the government has the power to introduce a new bill for animal cruelty.  Instant fines should be given to the owner without exception for leaving any animal in a car to suffer.  In addition they should be made to do unpaid work in a local dogs home.  The instant fine should be hefty enough to prevent re occurrence and they should also be assessed for suitably of owning a dog.

£1000 minimum instant fine, 12 week community service order to be served in a dogs home and assessment for suitability of owning a dog. In addition they should be put onto an animal cruelty register.
