Are you aware tampons contain chemicals unknown to the public?

Research shows that the known chemicals used (bleached rayon, plastic and cotton) cause heavy periods, infertility and, more seriously, cancers. What about the health risks of unknown chemicals contained in these products?

Listing ingredients on period products is not compulsory in the UK. 

We use around 13,000 sanitary products in our life meaning potentially harmful ingredients sit in the body for about 6 years. Being the most sensitive membrane of our bodies, the vagina absorbs substances up to 10x faster than on our skin and mouths. 

So why are we afforded more details about what's in shampoo than a tampon? 

Why are we inserting something into our bodies when we truly don't know what's in it?  

By signing this petition you're showing women deserve to know what's in the products we use so intimately. We aim to push towards legislations designed for transparency in chemicals used in tampon products through a printed ingredients list on ALL tampon packaging.
