To stop charges per mile

The Issue

I want to stop the proposed charges per mile on drivers! There is in fact petitions out there actually agreeing with said chargers trying to push the green agenda which we all want however the people signing are the type of people who probably work from home and and only travel to the supermarket once a week so think they are doing their bit making a difference and it won’t affect them financially.!!
I am a self employed carpenter from Luton, I work on a subcontractor basis and travel to wherever the work is be it london, herts, beds, bucks and even Cambridgeshire from time to time. Like everyone else I pay income tax and national insurance, the additional tax on mileage would mean it’s not financially viable to work as a 20-40 mile daily round trip would mean costs greater than what I earn! This would affect practically every construction worker outside of london, and practically every worker in general ranging from nurses, care home workers and every other low to middle income earner who has to travel to work. Instead of thinking of creative ways to tax the tech companies and larger corporations to pay a percentage of profits earned in the uk (their fair share) this is another attempt from the uk government to exploit the average British worker though this will affect everyone! Aside from the day to day drivers large hauliers, delivery drivers etc driving their goods up and down the country will have to pass on the costs incurred to the consumer raising prices of food, clothes and other such goods. Hitting people TWICE  If you think you will not be affected by this you are mistaken.!!!!!!! PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION
