Update: Since the initiation of this petition, I am proud that our Government as led by Boris Johnson has stepped in to help some of those in need. As much as most if us would like to express our appreciation for this, as a society we must go further to alleviate the social and economic problems caused by the pandemic.

The actions of the Government so far, have been to simply enable debt. This brings the much needed cash to businesses and households, but at a high cost individuals. The landlords still must continue to pay out for repairs and maintenance whilst receiving no income, and the tenants are being forced into debt. 

To stimulate the economy effectively, and ensure the sick and vulnerable can fully adhere to the lockdown, no half measures are acceptable. The Governement needs to take on the entire burden of the virus, as opposed to redistributing the burden as it has at present.
