Prevent Illegal Logging

Prevent Illegal Logging
The Issue
Nowadays our nature is endanger to fade because of the people's bad activities. They always abuse our Mother Nature. There are people who cuts the trees in mountains without even any permission, that's why our mountains lost its natural appearance and becomes pure of soil that can cause landslide and flood to the city's because the tree is absorbing the water from the rain so imagine if the trees are clearly gone to our mountains. The birds and other animals lost their home too, that's why there are many endangered species.
Third world, poorer countries such as the Philippines have huge issues with illegal logging, as they lack the infrastructure, law enforcement, and motivation to prevent it.
The facts about illegal logging
Incredibly, since 2015, the forest area in the Philippines has been rising, mainly thanks to government initiatives and increased law enforcement;
Over 25% of the country is covered by forest, and over 90% of this forest is owned by the government. However, at the beginning of the 20th century, this forest cover was at around 70%;
Unfortunately, only a fifth of these forests are protected under environmental law;
An estimated 9.8 million hectares of forest was destroyed due toillegal logging and deforestation between 1934 and 1988.
The environmental effects of illegal logging include deforestation, the loss of biodiversity and the emission of greenhouse gases. Illegal logging has contributed to conflicts with indigenous and local populations, violence, human rights abuses, corruption, funding of armed conflicts and the worsening of poverty.
The impacts of illegal logging include environmental, economic and social aspects. Environmental impacts include the loss or degradation of forests, as illegal logging tends to be associated with poor forest management. ... Illegal logging can result in the loss of government revenue
Here's what you can do about deforestation.
Plant a tree.
Go paperless.
Recycle and buy recycled products.
Look for Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification on wood and wood products.
Eat vegetarian meals as often as possible.
So I need your cooperation for those who have care for our nature to approach the government about this matter. We need to find the right hand for this matter. Now that Gina Lopez has gone we didn't know who will replace her in her position, a person who has a genuine love for all things specially to our environment. Let her be our inspiration to solve this matter because a single plant will do.
