Why Uttarakhand need Land Laws:

1. We are a small community & the constant migration has made so many of our villages human less,our cultural identity is in deep crises.
2. Whole Himalayan belt is very eco sensitive & not able to withstand mindless construction,bigger dams, mining n deforestation.
3. Only 12% of the total land is agricultural land & we have even allowing to sell it for the purpose of making big resorts n hotels in that land.
4. People can understand that Uttarakhand is also known by the name Dev Bhumi coz of the deep religious values attaching to this land for Hindus n Sikhs. The demographical change is a clear danger for our religious beliefs and we don't want to be another kashmir or Bengal.
5. Our pristine towns, villages, orchards & Eco sensitive zones are turning out to be ugly Concrete Jungles. Bhimtal, Mussoorie, Nainital, Mukteshwar etc are various examples of this trend making a danger to our fragile eco system & pressuring unnecessary burden to natural resources.

In a nutshell we are in a clear danger to loose our cultural, demographical and ecological identity if this trend continues and that's why we are demanding land laws like Himachal n Sikkim and we will take it,nobody should have any doubt about it.
