Most of the disputes in rural and urban areas of Uttar Pradesh are due to the bad book-keeping of land records. It leads to illegal and forceful encroachments by private/powerful individuals creating a cycle of tension within the society. Such conflicts, if taken to court, can take decades to get resolved. It is therefore important to have a consistent effort to do a land-measurement and distribution campaign throughout the state of Uttar Pradesh and provide fast track conflict resolution at the District Level. Keeping all the records open and online is another important step in this process, which will reduce corruption and unfair treatment. Digital India exists, though the ground realities have not changed much. This campaign and consistent work can change the development dynamics of the state.
