Cas en Bas to Pointe Hardy Advocates
10 Jan 2020

We were alerted to this post on the Facebook page of George Aditya Punoose - one of the Principal's of Cabot Saint Lucia.

First up - there will be a meeting at 3pm this Sunday, the 12th at Cas en Bas Beach followed by a walk along the coastal part of the site - please come, bring a friend, bring your media buddies.

Since at our meeting with himself and Jules Cowan-Dewar, we only received one email from Ms. Cowan-Dewar thanking us for our time and saying the issues we discussed would now be taken back to the team for consideration and so on.

We were crystal clear in our meeting that the type of clearance being done for 'line of site' was far too detrimental to this small-island's ecology - a tractor line in the vastness of Canada may be a tiny loss, here it is a huge loss as we are so small an island.

We were crystal clear that despite knowing our government would give them the go-ahead and urge them to get on with the "development" (or destruction of the environment), we and all others asked for opinions on the re-purposed old EIA, all agreed there needed to be reassessment of the area prior to anything happening.

So it's not like they don't know. Is it that they don't care? Perhaps. Whichever, we have let them know we are not happy with this move.

Once again - come out on Sunday and see and hear why this advocacy is being done and let your voice be heard!
