

I called the hotline for Natural Resources Information Support Centre and asked the following 8 questions to get clarity. Do however call the municipality and check before heading out to the area just in case.

QUESTIONS:
1. If the fishing zone is open in the area you want to fish are you allowed to walk on crown land to access the lake, pond or river to fish? (YES it’s allowed)
2. If the fishing zone is open in the area you want to fish are you allowed to walk on crown land to access the lake, pond or river to fish with family members from the same household? (YES it’s allowed) but if you run into other people keep the 2 metre social distancing.
3. If the fishing zone is open in the area you want to fish are you allowed to walk on crown land to access the lake, pond or river to fish with a friend from a different household? (YES it’s allowed) but you should take separate vehicles and stay 6 feet apart and if you run into other people keep the 2 metre social distancing.
4. If the fishing zone is open in the area you want to fish are you allowed to walk on crown land to access the lake, pond or river to fish with 3-4 people from different households? (YES it’s allowed) but you should all take separate vehicles and stay 6 feet apart and if you run into other people keep the 2 metre social distancing.
5. If the fishing zone is open in the area you want to fish are you allowed to go fishing with your spouse from the same household on the same boat? (YES it’s allowed)
6. If the fishing zone is open in the area you want to fish are you allowed to go fishing with family members from the same household on the same boat? (YES it’s allowed)
7. If the fishing zone is open in the area you want to fish are you allowed to go fishing with two people from two different households on the same boat? (NO it’s not allowed)
8. If the fishing zone is open in the area you want fish are you allowed to go fishing with 3-4 people from different households on the same boat? (NO it’s not allowed)

Note: Please exercise extreme caution when walking onto crown land. Please exercise extreme caution when using your boat. Make sure you have safety equipment, charged up cell phone, tell someone where you are going and bring your first-aid kit + food etc. and don't forget your life jackets.
Be very wary of dangerous wildlife and thread carefully if you are in hunting territory.
Make sure to wear bright clothing e.g. (orange vests).
NOTE: CAMPING IS NOT ALLOWED ON CROWN LAND AT THIS TIME.
AND PLEASE REMEMBER THAT GETTING RESCUED MAY TAKE A LOT LONGER THAN NORMAL. YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE CAUGHT OFF GUARD.
