This is not a one-off case where a peacefully napping stray dog wakes up to a massive jolt of unimaginable pain administered by cruel people; this incident only serves as a grim reminder of Nepal's ineffective efforts when it comes to enforcing stringent animal laws in the country that could protect poor animals from being beaten, run-over, tortured, and chased to death. 

In the face of sheer negligent attitude towards animal welfare of Nepal government, the court of law and other concerned bodies of the country, there is no hope for serving justice to animals who have had to sacrifice their lives in the hands of rebellions and other times left to the mercy of dogmatic people and religious fanatics. 

This is not just yet another 'incident'. We want the state authorities to book the culprit ASAP on charge of assault and attempt of beating-to-death murder of a voiceless victim, a street dog, who had to endure through the trauma of debilitating pain in daylight, in front of hundreds of spectators. 

Let us raise voice for these innocent animals whose lives are dependent on our actions or lack thereof. Let us not subscribe to a reality believing we cannot do anything to change the 'reality'
