Being the end of 2023, I felt I had to address a personal issue that has been bugging me for 6 years now. Around 2017, I felt that there had to be a way to address social problems which i felt affected many of us. Specially the problems which might go under the radar but might be affecting us all in the long run and that gave me the idea to start a show called "The Nepali Show", the gist of it would be to address any social issues and at the time in Kathmandu particularly, I felt that there was a issue with daily vehicle traffic. While being stuck traffic jams in key places like Koteshwor, Maitighar, Chabahil, Gausala, I saw traffic light poles installed in most of them and then I wanted to find out what was the reason for them to not be in operation. What I found was that we (the collective we) back then lacked the resources to back up the traffic system. Then came the idea that I could start a petition through this channels name and see how many people were willing to act on the issue, i.e. sign an online petition. I was able to get 20,000 signatures, the need to run traffic lights within Kathmandu valley was there and people were willing to act. Long story short, while we were gathering those signatures, a change was visible (though not through any direct intervention of ours) all seemed well for a while. 6 years later, the issue remains persistent and I can't help but ask why ?
