Ban Alcohol and Plastic on Forts
The Issue
Forts situated in Maharashtra are not just tourist places but are historic monuments of golden era of the Maratha empire. They are an epitome of successful India's Initial Revolt of independent battle. Thereupon these forts are Red Letter like other historical monuments. However, because of negligence of Government, these monuments are losing their glory and most of the intruders are taking advantage of this sloppiness thereby treating such monuments as places for hookah, alcohol parties, etc.
Not only forts but also other trekking points, devrai (sacred forests), waterfalls, streams and all other natural areas, also give a free pass to all the drunkards to mess around. As an example: Kalsubai , Naneghat, Ajoba, Chakdev, Parbat, Nageshwar, Ghanchakkar, Kaas Pathar are only a few examples.
In Maharashtra , People consider Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as their god and forts as temples. No devotee would like someone going to our temple and drink alcohol, hookah and spread dirt and plastic waste all around the premises.
Plastic waste is detrimental to environment as it causes soil erosion and results to landslide and other numerous mishap happening to guests confronting demise
With this appeal, we request everybody to join hands against those intruders and heed of the general public and compel government to take a bold move and boycott consumption of Alcohol and use of plastic on Forts, trekking points, waterfall and other forests.
