The Forest Department of Madhya Pradesh has declared a set of 108 premium dates for which the Safari permit price will be double of the normal price. These are weekends and days of festive holidays. This decision has been taken without any consultation with any of the stakeholders. The timing of the decision is also inappropriate as the tourism season is about to start in a month and many advance bookings have been taken. Increase in the safari permit price will have a very affect on tourism which is already in bad shape in Covid-19 hit scenario. We demand immediate cancellation of the order. If the price is to be increased, it should be increased with advance notice effectively from next season.
