"Kerala Government should allow IAS Officer Anupama to continue in her current post.We need sincere young energetic officers like Anupama in Food and Safety Department"
The Issue
The Commissioner of Food and Safety banned Nirapara brand of products, manufactured by KKR Food Products, Kerala. The ban was issues after, over 30 samples of the products were found to be adulterated. Food Safety Commissioner T.V. Anupama [IAS] directed the manufacturer to recall all banned products from the market. About 34 cases are registered against Nirapara, on charges of adulteration of food products so far . And a fine of Rs 16 lakh has been levied from the company in six cases.
Days after food safety authorities in Kerala banned the spices sold by a popular brand on charges of adulteration, it looks like the official behind the ban, TV Anupama IAS, will be moved from the current post.
As the Commissioner of Food Safety Control Department in the State, Anupama had ordered the ban on the chilly, coriander and turmeric powder sold by Nirapara brand after they were found to have more than the permissible quantity of starch.
But instead of admitting mistakes Nirapara started a paid social media campaign against Food Safety Commissioner T.V. Anupama . They hired social media goons to target, abuse and spread propagandas against the honest IAS officer Anupama .In this blog we will expose the various unethical activities of Nirapara team.
Now, a Malayalam online portal suggests that the Kerala government is planning to shift her from the department and appoint her as a District Collector as the company, established in 1976, is very influential in the State and abroad. There are lots of honest IAS/IPS officers who work hard and make things work. It is our responsibility to uphold the good work they do
Even though the products are banned in the South Indian State, they are reportedly available across the UAE.
"The products coming to the UAE are not the same batch that is distributed in Kerala. Dubai Municipality is conducting detailed tests. There is no need withdraw the product here. We strictly follow the UAE rules, and our brands are checked and released, authorities at Enhance UAE, the local distributor of the product says," Emirates247 quoted an official in UAE.
Meanwhile, popular local TV channels and newspapers came under the criticism of social media users after they failed to report the news on time as the company is a major advertiser.
Apart from spices, Nirapara also sells rice, flour, pickles, rava and instant mix products.
