As we all know that as many as three new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Bangalore, Karnataka, taking the total number of infected people to four. A 76-year-old man, who was being treated as a suspect to have contracted novel coronavirus (COVID-19), has died. If the tests come out to be positive, it would mark the country’s first fatality due to the deadly virus.

On 9 March, Karnataka declared indefinite holiday for all kindergarten and pre-primary schools in Bangalore. The holiday was extended to all primary schools up to fifth grade after a confirmed case was reported in the city.

Also, Most of the IT companies have started permitting their employees to work from home.

We think that the action should be taken for college students also. There are around 473 colleges in Bangalore City itself which includes a heavy amount of gathering at a particular place. Since the chances of transmission of COVID-19 is mostly around the places with heavy gatherings. Moreover, since most of the students who study here comes from various parts of the country, the parents are concerned about the health of their wards too.

So, here we request you all to sign this petition for the closure of Colleges in Bangalore City before outbreak of virus becomes worse.
