Boycott Japan Until the Dolphin Capture/Slaughter Ends!

Boycott Japan Until the Dolphin Capture/Slaughter Ends!
The Issue
Every year hundreds of dolphins are slaughtered for meat or taken for a lifetime in captivity in the infamous "Cove" in Taiji, Japan. Though many people, including celebrities such as Hayden Panettiere and Jennifer Aniston, as well as many countries, have spoken out against this slaughter, the government of Japan has repeatedly stated that it will do nothing to stop this unnecessary tradition. Moral reasoning just isn't working. That is why we believe it is time for stronger measures. It is time to do something that will speak louder than words.
We, the undersigned, vow to boycott all travel to Japan, as well as boycott the purchase of products produced or grown in Japan, in an effort to display to it's government that this is a practice we believe to be cruel and inhumane in every fibre of it's existence.
Not only does a boycott demonstrate to Japanese officials that we protest their barbaric practices, but it will also have an impact on their economic security, and therefore will attract attention from key government officials and policy makers. Some common imported items from Japan include vehicles, electronics and appliances. So do your research before you make a purchase, and ensure that you do your part to put an end to this senseless slaughter. Remember not to buy a ticket to any dolphinarium, amusement park housing marine mammals or swim with dolphin programs, as this directly funds the unnecessary capture of these beautiful, intelligent creatures from their natural habitat.
Dolphins and porpoises deserve a better fate than to be deprived of food and entertain humans with tricks or to be slaughtered for food, which contains mercury levels so high it is considered toxic to humans. We must do something to keep this from continuing. We are their biggest threat, and their only hope.
