We demand implementation of Uniform Civil Code in India

We demand implementation of Uniform Civil Code in India
The Issue
We demand implementation of Uniform Civil Code in India. Uniform Civil Code involves having a common set of laws governing marriage, divorce, succession and adoption for all Indians, instead of allowing different personal laws for people of different faiths.
Article 44 of the Constitution of India lists Uniform Civil Code as one of the Directive Principles of State Policy
Saffron Think Tank backs the implementation of Uniform Civil Code in the country. We appeal to the centre to implement Uniform Civil Code at the earliest! “The need for a Uniform Civil Code as envisioned under Article 44, has been reiterated from time to time by the Supreme Court”
Caste and religion-related barriers are gradually disappearing from the society. “The youth of India belonging to various communities, tribes, castes or religions who solemnise their marriages ought not to be forced to struggle with issues arising due to conflicts in various personal laws, especially in relation to marriage and divorce,”
Saffron Think Tank along with the supporters of this petition are awaiting the action of the Parliament to make a law for establishing a common civil code for all. The aim of the Constitution makers was to gradually and consensually move towards a common civil code for all citizens in future.
We request you all to sign this petition for the betterment of the nation, and also appeal fellow citizens to sign the petition and support our initiative!
