Together let's end the daily torture of Indian students!
The Issue
I am Varnika Sood, a student currently in the 12th grade. I am writing this petition not just for myself but for each and everyone of my fellow students whose schools are hell bent on conducting online examinations even during such hard times. It is my request to you please sign my petition and support it so that we get maximum public recognition.
With the coronavirus wreaking havoc across the world, schools around have been shut down. And after a month or so of the commencing of the pandemic, within many schools of our country there was a mad dash to compensate for the lost time by introducing haphazard modes of online learning.
It's all fine till online learning but from where does the question of conducting examinations arise when many students are not even able to connect properly to the classes and learn what is being taught. Many of us know how big a tragedy it is to bear through these 8-9 hours of mental torture and fatigue with having to even get disconnected from the online session due to low bandwidth. With such hassles, any sort of online schooling is bound to fail miserably. We know that our teachers are doing their utmost at teaching us our lessons daily but then they should too along with the schools try to understand the state of aggravation and quandary the students are in.
It is absolutely unfair to ask students to sit for an examination in the middle of a pandemic. Not only does the question of proper access to online classes arise but the school should also keep in mind the psychological circumstances. How is one supposed to concentrate on studying for examinations when all they hear about is the number of lives this coronavirus is claiming each day. Moreover, some of the students or their family members are also affected by the virus which makes the situation even more traumatic for them.
I encourage you to sign my petition and I hope that with my petition, our government and the schools will take an action in the interest of all students.
