We buy something from a shop for a few rupees and we get a proper bill/invoice for that.  We get the bill on a thick stationery which can be stored for a few years.  The bills are easily readable because of the quality of paper and printer.

We shop in Supermarkets like Big Bazaar, Spar & Food World for thousands of rupees and what we do we get in return.  We get a bill which is so thin that it may get torn any moment.  Print quality is so poor we cannot even read it.  Even if we preserve the bill carefully it is of no use as data gets erased after a few days. Is this what we deserve after spending thousands of rupees of our hard earned money?

Through this forum I request Government of India to make it mandatory for all Supermarkets to generate proper  bill/invoices. The invoices should be printed on a good quality stationery and  the quality of priont should be durable and easy on the eye.  Customers also should be given the facility of downloading the invoice with Ola and Uber Invoices being classic examples.

Requesting all of you to sign this petition so that it reaches Government of India for making it mandatory for Supermarkets to provide proper bills / invoices.
