The COVID 19 pandemic will cause a serious strain on the Indian healthcare system.  Widespread infection is yet to be seen as we are in the Stage 1 and early Stage 2 of the outbreak.

India has only 70,000 ICU beds in big and small hospitals.  These beds are woefully short to handle the expected number of infections that will occur.  The expectation is that a million beds would be required to handle exacerbated cases of illness.

These million beds would require ventilators as patient's occupying these beds would be in a critical condition.  However, where are we going to get ventilators from?

This petition is to repurpose manufacturing units and bring the best brains in the country to start designing and manufacturing ventilators at scale to cater to what's to come.  If you feel this is necessary, please sign and share this petition.
