As it aired in the online news on 29th September, 2020, the year took another turn for the worse witnessing the death of , a Dalit Girl from the , Uttar Pradesh, two weeks after she had been raped by 4 so-called upper caste men. The victim had been brutally raped on the 14th of September where details cite that she had been dragged by her dupatta along the fields, when she was out to gather cattle fodder. 

The four identified criminals according to the news are namely Sandip, Ramu, Lavkush and Ravi. It was brought into popularity by the online news media, thanks to which, numerous protests started floating in my social media platforms. While I am writing this petition, it gives me scare chills to think of a girl who had her spine broken, and her tongue cut into a deep incision out of the fear. The brave soul went on fighting for her life after she had been transferred to Delhi Safdarjung Hospital from Hathras. 

It is an absolute show of brute male dominance in such regions. They use power and status to satisfy their needs, be it social, political, economical or sexual. This has been a ghastly incident and I am starting this petition with all my grit. I hope it reaches the maximum number of signatures which can perhaps again instigate a feeling of malice among those men who ever think of such a heinous action. I want courage and bravery to make us a common medium for making India Safer. We want law to be strict and not to be merciful to those, who themselves hadn't been merciful once. R.I.P.
